Your Questions, Answered

As the program has grown, student's’ needs have become more varied. Some need simple weekly support, while others need more structure, accountability, or high-touch academic guidance. The tiered model allows us to provide clearer expectations, more consistent progress, and better support for each type of student, without compromising the quality of care any family receives.
-
Not at all. Your student will continue receiving the same level of support they are used to. The new structure simply organizes what we already provide into clear plans so families know exactly what is included and what to expect.
Pricing, Plans, & Billing
-
The most common plan, Standard, is priced at $85 per session, which reflects the structured, personalized support most students need for steady academic growth.
-
The Basic Plan is for students who are already on track and just need reliable weekly maintenance.
The Standard Plan is for students who want to improve and need structure, accountability, and consistent progress.
The Elite Plan is for students who need high-touch support, maximum flexibility, and more frequent academic guidance. Full details for each plan are available on the Plans page.

Two sessions per week creates the conditions for real academic growth. It allows for consistent reinforcement, better retention, built-in accountability, and time for both learning new material and reviewing what was covered. One session per week works well for maintenance, two sessions is where meaningful progress happens.
-
The Basic Plan is a great fit for motivated students who simply need weekly check-ins, homework help, or test prep support. Additional sessions can always be added as needed during busier academic periods. Switching plans is also permitted.
-
Absolutely. Families can move between plans as their student’s needs evolve. Some students begin in Basic and move to Standard during demanding academic seasons, while others step up to Elite during exam periods. Flexibility is built into the structure.
-
All plans operate on a biweekly cycle. Payment is due at or before the first session of each two-week period, this keeps things simple, predictable, and consistent for everyone. Payment details and preferred methods will be discussed when onboarding so that everything is clear and comfortable before sessions begin. If you ever have any questions about billing, feel free to reach out directly.
Scheduling
-
Each tier has its own scheduling structure designed to match the level of support it provides.
Basic clients have set weekly availability with scheduling opening every Saturday for the following week.
Standard clients receive priority scheduling and can book up to two weeks out, with scheduling opening every Friday.
Elite clients have full scheduling flexibility, can book for the entire month, and always have first access before any other tier.

Life happens, and flexibility is a core part of how we operate. If you need to reschedule, please reach out at least 24 hours in advance so the session can be moved without issue. Cancellation made less than 24 hours before a session are charged 50% of the session rate, and same-day cancellations or no-shows are charged the full session rate.
Because payment is collected biweekly before the cycle begins, any cancellation fees will be applied as a credit or deduction toward the following billing cycle rather than requiring a separate payment. Elite plan clients have the added benefit of no same-day cancellation fees built into their tier.

Yes, new families are welcomed with a first week free (maximum two sessions), followed by a discounted second week. This introductory period is designed to let your student experience the sessions, build rapport, and determine whether LK is the right fit before making any long-term commitment. No pressure, no obligation.
-
Absolutely, and virtual sessions are a full, seamless part of how LK Tutoring operates. If your student is home sick but still wants to stay on track, we can move the session online. If your family is traveling and your student does not want to fall behind, virtual makes that possible. The flexibility is built in so that life never has to get in the way of progress.
That said, virtual sessions work best for students who can maintain focus independently. If your student relies on the physical presence of a tutor for accountability and redirection, in-person sessions will likely serve them better. This is something we can talk through together when finding the right fit.

The first session is intentionally low-pressure. It is designed to establish rapport, get a feel for how your student learns, and assess where they are academically. There is no expectation to cover heavy material right away, the goal is simply to get to know your student and make sure they feel comfortable. By the end of the first session, there will be a clear sense of direction for what comes next.
